Air Serbia publishes its First Sustainability Report: Responsible business practices as part of its long-term strategy
Air Serbia has published the first Sustainability Report in the company’s history, providing a transparent and comprehensive overview of the results achieved during 2025 in the areas of environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance. The report was prepared in accordance with the internationally recognised sustainability reporting standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
By introducing this form of reporting, the company is taking an important step to increase transparency in the national airline’s operations and reaffirm its commitment to building long-term growth through responsible business practices, while caring for passengers, employees, the community, and the environment.
“We are proud to present Air Serbia’s first Sustainability Report, an important document in the nearly century-long history of our company and a significant step forward in the way we communicate openly with passengers, employees, partners and the wider community. This report marks the beginning of our formal sustainability reporting journey and lays the foundations for monitoring progress in the years ahead,” said Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek.
The report covers 2025, a year in which Air Serbia expanded its network to 93 destinations and carried 4.57 million passengers, achieving record results and surpassing the former JAT’s 1987 record for passenger numbers. At the same time, the company conducted its first materiality assessment and identified four strategic pillars: safe and reliable operations, employees, environmental protection and responsible corporate governance. These pillars will form the basis for the further development of the company’s sustainability strategy.
Among the activities highlighted in the report are investments in fleet modernisation and improvements in operational efficiency, the first steps towards the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), the implementation of numerous socially responsible initiatives, continued investment in employee development, and the establishment of a Sustainability Committee, which will play an important role in the further development and implementation of the company’s ESG objectives.
